John Frusciante was the guitarist for the RHCP for all of their most popular albums and during their most popular period. Pretty much all of the albums that you said you didn't like except Mother's Milk being the only he played on that you may have liked.

In other words, the only reason they were heard by other than family members.

And to be fair, the lyrical content was about Anthony's struggle with the dope.

it wasn't the song so much as the airplay that killed it for me. one of my favorite albums ruined by overplay of a single song.

same with 'every breath you take' by the police. hated that song.

My parents were Deep Purple fans, so I grew up listening to them, but I've always hated "Smoke on the Water".

Someone is claiming Fruciante is a poor guitarist? ...or TRHCP were at their worst when he was with the band?

...I think he was far and away their best guitarist.

Sledgehammer - Peter Gabriel
Money - Pink Floyd [hate is probably an overstatement but it's my least favorite song by far on that album.]
Atomic - Blondie

Hate is too strong but:
quote:

Losing My Religion/Stand/Shiney Happy People
and "The One I Love"

"Celluloid Heroes" - Kinks

"Mr Spaceman" - Byrds. McGuinn's love for this song mystifies me

"Rainy Day Women". "Just Like a Woman" - Dylan

There are some songs that I don't really hate but I've heard them so much I have just gotten tired of them :

Stairway to Heaven - Zep
Looking Out My Back Door - CCR
Riders on the Storm - Doors (I may actually hate this one)
Free Bird - Skynard
American Band - Grand Funk

I've never cared for this, but I've mellowed a bit so "hate" is a bit strong. Of the famous Doors songs it's my least favorite though.

Free Bird - Skynard
the one song of theirs I do like

American Band - Grand Funk
I love these

that's actually my favorite GF track

Yeah but they just don't compare to Walking on the Water (CCR) and Inside Looking Out (GF)
