Croc Rock - Elton John
Ramblin Man - Allman Bros
Black - Pearl Jam

Last 2 probably more from overplay. Croc Rock is just turrrible.

That song is a ripoff of Eighties by the Killing Joke

gotta be 'under the bridge' by the RHCP. that song ruined a great band and they never recovered.

True story - Pops Midnight was mid-50s when this song came out and LOVED it. Weird what folks like and don't like.

The Crunge is the only song by Zeppelin fitting the category for me. Just awful.

Hump De Bump - RHCP

I'm not the biggest fan of Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard. I can't say I hate it, but I do hate the fact that's their biggest hit.

Dig it by The Beatles is pretty bad, too.

Eh, you can thank John Frusciante* for ruining the band.

Mr Jones and Black. Wow. These were two of my favorites. I guess it was due to what was going on in my life when they came out.

I'd have to say Dylan's Lay Lady Lay.

When thinking about the question, most of my dislike for a popular song by an artist I like is mostly from overplay.

Jeremy, Sweet Home Alabama, Smells Like Teen Spirit, No Rain, etc. are all at least decent songs( I really like No Rain these days, though I got sick of it around 93 or 94) by themselves. They've just been played to death.

I LOVE the story Sweet Home Alabama tells, but HATE how my fellow Bama fans have ruined it with the stupid Roll Tide Roll chant in the middle of it.

I don't hate them, but the two best known songs in pop culture by Frank Zappa are really pretty mediocre compared to the rest of his catalog.

Don't Eat the Yellow Snow

Valley Girl

Smells Like Teen Spirit, Enter Sandman, and Spoonman were way overplayed to the point of I got tired of hearing them.
