Where the hell has sinbad been?
I was wiped out the day after the LSU-TCU game and stopped at Sam's Town in Shreveport. Sinbad was doing a show there that night. I thought I was reading it wrong.
Might check this concert out. Weezer's still a name brand to me and I've never seen them before.

I wonder if this means no "Hash Pipe" in weezer's set.

I wonder how good the turn out will be for this
I don't know if Weezer is in with the kids these days. I would figure something terrible like some shitty country music person all the red dirt people love would be a bigger draw. Weezer seems too legitimately good for something like GOTG.

I was thinking there would be a good turnout on the parade grounds...and probably even the PMAC. With it being like this, I have no idea. I'd say they'll get 60-70% of what they would have had on campus.
There could be 2000 ppl there, just as easily as there could be 4-5000. If the weather is really bad, then maybe that'll cut the numbers down even more.

As other posters have stated, the parking downtown will be a deterrent for most LSU students. With Grooving on the Grounds, the appeal is that it is right on campus, so you can walk to it and then walk elsewhere.
This is going to backfire on LSU when most kids would rather stay on campus and get shitcanned pre-tigerland, as opposed to fighting traffic and parking to stay sober at a concert in the River Center

I wonder if they'll create any sort of shuttle service for students to and from the River Center from campus? It's not like one can walk downtown from the Parade Grounds...

This sucks. Groovin on the Grounds finally gets a couple bands I enjoy, and they go and frick it up.

You can thank pending Mother Nature issues and the coach's clinic starring Ray Lewis already booked at the PMAC, for that though.

saw big boi in 2010 at the pmac when the weather moved it indoors and it was awesome. lot of people in there. should still be a good crowd. seems like theres a lot of people traveling from all over to come see weezer for free.

No, SOT never books these kinds of acts. They go for hip/hop acts and techno crap and get whatever band is desperate enough for the money to accept the censorship contract. This means they usually get a b list or also-ran pop act. However, this year, they really hit a homerun. This will be the first Groovin' On The Grounds I will be attending since the one in 2010 with Shinedown.

I usually give zero fricks about groovin on the grounds, but pretty psyched for it this year with Weezer -- great band...it's weird with the river center situation
