My gf is from Kentucky and we almost decided to go but I couldn't swing it with work. Really wanted to see Sleep Token. Definitely try to catch them.
If you're unfamiliar with them check out the song "The Summoning" by them. The guy's vocals are off the charts good.

Seen Godsmack twice and they have put on a great show both times. It’s been a little while since I seen them last though. Still should be worth it just to see them.
The strangest concert lineup I have ever attended came when I seen Godsmack the very first time back years ago. It was the Anger Management Tour and Godsmack wasn’t even a headlining band yet. The lineup was Limp Bizkit headlining with Godsmack a band called Sinistar and DMX. Yes you read that right DMX the rapper. I seen them in B’ham Alabama at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center and I think the year was 99 or 2000 give or take a year or 2. It was the strangest concert lineup I have ever attended in person because I never could figure out how DMX fit with 3 hard rock bands. It was a damn good show though. Every band there killed it even DMX and I’m not a fan of rap at all. I had just had a cyst removed from my knee 4 days prior and still went to this concert.

Louder Than Life Festival 2023
Highland Fairgrounds
September 21-22
Thursday bands I saw
Foo Fighters
Weezer
Rancid
L7
Coheed and Cambria
Royal Blood
Friday
Tool
Godsmack
Limp Bizkit
Megadeth
Corey Taylor
Bad Omens
L7- A very fast moving, 35 minute set. Side stage and some technical problems. Powered through ten songs and was over.
Rancid- played a lot of old school hits. Solid
Weezer- All the hits. Great solo stuff. A great live show
Foo Fighters- High energy. Dave brings the fire in his voice. No brainer, great show.
Corey Taylor- Covers of Slipknot and Stone Sour mostly. Finished with “Ace of Spades”
Megadeth- Dave has the chops still. Wish I could’ve seen original members like Dave Ellefson.
Limp Bizkit- big letdown. Fred’s a dick. Insulted the audience quite a bit. The worst part is he had the big screens turned off so no one could see. Me and my girl nearly got crushed in the pit. Made it out alive
Godsmack- the fricking best of all of them. Drum battle was nuts. They’re top five favorite show.
Tool- to each his own. Eleven songs stretched out over two hours. No Sober, Schism. I’m not impressed one bit. Overrated if you ask me
The other bands were fine. I’d give a nod to Coheed and Bad Omens.
Here comes my video links I filmed
Godsmack- I Stand Alone
Godsmack- Whatever
Godsmack- Voodoo
Godsmack- Awake
Tool- Forty Six and Two
Limp Bizkit- Nookie
Limp Bizkit- Take A Look Around
Megadeth- Sweating Bullets
L7- Entire set (35 minutes)
Weezer- My Name Is Jonas
Weezer- Undone (The Sweater Song)
Weezer- Say It Ain’t So
Weezer- Buddy Holly
Rancid- Ruby Soho
We both had a great time. Everyone was super cool. A lot of girls walking around with titties (no pics) hanging out. A lot of walking to and from the car. Expo center is massive.
We had brunch at Wild Eggs. Jamie got the hot brown

Seeing Tool at a festival is not the same as seeing Tool in an arena. I'm sure they still sounded great though.

They had a two hour set, walked off 15 minutes early and only played eleven songs. Every song was stretched out 4 minutes longer. Only songs I recognized were Forty Six and 2, The Pot and Stinkfist. He barely talked to the crowd and there were alot of Tool fans.
