Badly tuned accordions and fiddles that all sounds the same.

It's an acquired taste, and I can get tired of it quickly. It's more of a cultural thing, like polka or irish folk music.

On the flip side, Wayne Toups and Zydecajun is basically the Louisiana Allman Brothers.

Lost Bayou Ramblers got Scarlett Johansson to sing on one of the records, I'd consider that underrated

Proof

it's way more important than you think bruh.... but then again, I'm probably just getting myself stuck in a debate that's meant to be a troll post

Doesn't something have to be rated to be overrated? This is so strange.

Cajun music is, well was kind of bigger than you'd think in the Northeast.. I knew musicians that would always have gigs lined up in like New York City & Philadelphia..

Definitely in the conversation for best album of the decade? No way. The one single that was released off of the album was pure shite. I'm sure Rolling Stone loved it, though.

You made an entire argument based on nothing I said in my post.

I'm sure a lot of critics would agree with you. The 80s is my favorite decade of music and I like Paul Simon. Just never liked the one song that Mtv and the radio played to death off of this album.

Maybe not with critics, but I'd like to think of Thriller and Purple Rain as the frontrunners in a decade full of great albums.

I would venture to say that swamp pop is worse.

The drunk yelling/shouting in Cajun French is the worst part, but why they can't tune the accordions has always confused me. If AC/DC can tune to a bagpipe, Tbob Boudreaux should be able to get that squeezebox in tune.
