They got greedy with ticket prices. I’m as big a TT fan as anyone and go to 1-2 concerts a month and I bowed out of that one after seeing the ticket prices.

Saw a couple in the River Center and the sound was bad too.

They booked bigger venues in a lot of places that they shouldn’t have. The wharf show was the same way. And the sound was awful.

In a market like mobile and Baton Rouge they are still a theatre or large bar band.

Agreed. I think they saw what Zach Bryan and Childers were doing and thought they could match their popularity. I like TT more than both, but they don’t have the fans like either of those.

It was just announced that Isbell is playing the new Sound amphitheater in Gautier the night before. That's probably where this show should have been.

TBH, I hope it cancels because I got excited and paid too much for my seats

Same. I could just see Isbell the night before in Gautier, and I'm going to see Turnpike and American Aquarium at Red Rocks.

I’ve never seen a show there. Is the venue any good?

This would’ve been a perfect show for the Lamar Dixon venue. Around 4000 people max capacity. TT management got super cash grabby it seems like. No way they should’ve charged this much money for tickets. It’s crazy.

just for a similar reference

last weekend I went to both Billy strings shows at the 20000 seat Bridgestone arena in Nashville. Lower bowl seats.

2 tix to each show, 325 bucks total (81 dollars per ticket) including fees. The shows sold out within a few days of presale.

We go to several dozen live arena/amphitheater shows a year, major acts in major markets and rarely if ever pay over 100/per. 120 bucks to see turnpike in Baton Rouge is ludicrous. shite, a single day ticket to jazzfest is only 85 dollars…for all gotdam day

There's lots worse places. Seen a bunch of good shows there over the last 35+ years.

I've seen TT 4 times since their return and the sound has been iffy at best every time.

Saw them in N Little Rock in Simmons Bank Arena (18k capacity) in Feb 2023, and the sound for Turnpike was fricking awful. Worst I've experienced in many years.

It was great for the openers (The Avett Brothers and The Wood Brothers), so the Turnpike sound people blew it.

I was at that show. Sound wasn’t great, but I attributed it to being open air.

But I was pretty disappointed in the overall performance. I’ve seen them maybe 8-10 times prior, but that was before their break. While the rest of the band was into the show, Evan seemed to be growing through the motions. I’m a huge fan, but that show fell flat for me. So much so that I didn’t even care to check ticket pricing / availability when this show was announced.
