Well known fact that TT’s sound guy is terrible. He likes the bury the vocals underneath everything in the mix. Which makes zero sense for a band that is so lyrically known.

Why do they put up with that? Seems like it’s time for a replacement.

Well he's sober now and not near as good

I don't think the music/vocal performances are worse, but Evan is definitely stiffer and more polished now. In my experience he loosens up as it goes, but he seems exactly you'd think a guy who used to have his performances fueled by alcohol who turned sober would perform - ie, much tighter and reserved until he gets going.

I’m wanting to go see them in Macon next month but my wife hates any type of post 90s country. I have a few friends that are going so might tag along with them.

I'd love to see both TT and Isabell but don't like seeing concerts in that place.

Thats a prime concert for the Varsity at those ticket prices.

All kidding aside, thats what they should have done. Higher prices at smaller venue.

I have seen them 4x. Varsity, HOB-NO... I would see them anytime... In a smaller venue... If it is at the River Center... I hope you enjoy the show.

For those in the know, is there a drop dead date for this sort of thing? Or are they really gonna play to an empty building?

Any chance they move it to the Performing Arts Center?

Also curious - I have to sell my Isbell tickets for ATL at the end of the month because of a work trip.

I was hoping to use this show as a lead in for Jazz Fest.

Do they travel with their own sound guy? Local sound guys will absolutely screw with people they think are dicks, but there's no excuse if it's their guy.

The mix was up and down when I saw them last year, but I mostly attributed it to NRG and the rodeo sound people. Then again, I've seen others there who sounded fine. And the comments on this thread suggest it's been a consistent issue with them.

They milked the demand for their reunion, but I don't know how long that wave lasts if they're not putting on great shows.

The mix was up and down when I saw them last yea

I have seen the 3 times at the HOB NO.. The sound was great 2 times, and PK the other.. When I saw them at the Varsity.. It was horrible... Muddy.. The BVs, which is a solid part of their sound, way too low... almost inaudible.

In a sports arena, I will always cut a little acoustics slack, but in a theatre... That is all sound guy and mix.

Can you buy tickets at the venue or do you have to purchase through ticketmaster?

I’d rather not pay Ticketmaster a dime if I don’t have to

Ended up calling the Rivercenter and you can buy tickets at the door/gate the night of the show. Just a $4 fee.

In case anyone was curious

Isn't Jason Isbell one of the opening acts?
