Top albums from 1980

A really good year for music. The beginning of a lot of synths in pop music and just the 80's sound in general starting to take over, but before it got really lame a few years later. It also marked the dawn of the era in which all the great artists from the 60's and 70's would start making really, really shitty music.
A top 10 of some of my favorites:
1. Talking Heads - Remain in Light
2. Joy Divison - Closer
3. Peter Gabriel - III
4. David Bowie - Scary Monsters
5. Adam and the Ants - Kings of the Wild Frontier
6. The Teardrop Explodes - Kilimanjaro
7. The Pretenders - self-title
8. UB-40 - Signing Off
9. Killing Joke - self-title
10. Rolling Stones - Emotional Rescue
A lot of weird stuff came out in 1980 like the Residents, Pop Group, and Half Japanese. No thanks.
And upon doing some research I saw a lot of the of the hardcore stuff like Dead Kennedys and Circle Jerks came out with their seminal albums. Not my thing really, but still, a lot of stuff going on this year.
So what are some of yalls favorite albums from the year MB?

One of the best albums ever. The opening quad of Born Under Punches, Crosseyed and Painless, The Great Curve, and Once in a Lifetime is some of the best consecutive 20 minutes ever recorded (though not to downplay the rest of the album). All about those African-influenced polyrhythmic grooves.

The Stones were still in their 30s and looked old as hell, then.

Yea it's definitely not my favorite Stones album, or even one I really particularly like much at all, but it has a few good songs on it

Scary Monsters by David Bowie is by far the best album of that year. Also love The River by Bruce Springsteen.

I like the Police but Zenyatta Mondatta is definitely a regression from their previous two albums.

Pretenders released their debut album on Dec 27, 1979, so I'm counting it as 1980.

I'd probably go with Springsteen's The River, but honorable mention to...
The Cramps - Songs the Lord taught Us (could be #1 depending on mood)
The Jam - Sound Affects
The Specials - More Specials
Tom Waits - Heart Attack and Vine
Dandy lists a lot of the goods of that year, too...

The 80's were great for heavy metal. Not that hair band crap, but real metal. Here are a few gems among tons of great music that year.
Iron Maiden---Iron Maiden
Black Sabbath---Heaven and Hell
Ozzy---Blizzard of Ozz
Motorhead---Ace of Spades
Judas Priest---British Steel
