This thread prompted me to put my zeppelin collection on shuffle and I keep thinking "this should have DEFINITELY been on the list!" "How could I have forgotten about this song?!" And finally, "FIVE?! How could they honestly expect me to only pick FIVE! That's absurd!"
I'm not gonna lie, I had to think long and hard about it to pare it down to just five.
Like everybody else, I love the obvious choices like Stairway, Kashmir, Whole Lotta Love, etc. I also had a hard time leaving Misty Mountain Hop off my list.

For those who don't know, please go vote on the Band/Artist thread stickied to the top and help us end the LONG vote of the top Zep Album!
My list?
1. Ten Years Gone
2. The Rain Song
3. Going to California
4. Nobody's Fault But Mine
5. The Rover
Songs like "Rock and Roll", "Black Dog", "Stairway" were probably my faves in my teens, but they're the all-time classics. The others are the ones I listen to for ME.
One probably not mentioned that I listen to constantly. Don't laugh...
"Down by the Seaside"

You know you're a lame arse middle aged man approaching old age when you make a 'top 5 Led Zeppelin tunes' thread.
(but what does that say for me commenting on it)

No particular order:
No Quarter
For Your Life
Ten Years Gone
The Wanton Song
What Is and What Should Never Be
Very hard to limit it to 5 though.

1. In My Time of Dying
2. The Ocean
3. Since I've Been Loving You
4. Brom-Y-Aur Stomp
5. When the Levee Breaks
There are tow things I look for in a Zep song -- great bluesy throwbacks and a hard driving riff. The Ocean is, IMO, the greatest riff ever recorded. And that break right at the end of the song... I'm done. It's just great.
