Thoughts on Dylan's Silence after Nobel?

I skimmed 2 pages of threads and saw only the thread about his receiving the award.
Whats the boards thoughts on him saying ZERO about it? At what point is it a dick move? The man is 75 years old. I don't think you can be a sellout at 75?
At a certain point it has to be OK to admit that you are good, and stop being anti everything. At his age, he has influenced a few generations of singer songwriters. It must be odd to BECOME Americana after spending a couple decades being, either outright Anti-American (perhaps overstating) or at least anti-establishment. You've become an American Standard? Is it not OK to acknowledge it?
It's just one of those instances where silence or indifference screams "look at me!"
Not Dylan bashing. Guy is incredible. Just thought I'd ask after seeing an article today where a Nobel Committee member was pissed. Calling him "arrogant" I believe.

He allowed himself to be inducted into the Rock and Roll HOF? Why not this? Don't the winners receive prize $$? Give that money to a charity of your choice and use the award to make a speech toward that cause?

He may think it's embarrassing that he received the prize for literature. He's a weird dude though.

Lol.
Fair enough.
But, at no point is there ever a sense of "quit your bitching and admit you're great and everybody loves you".?

he's never done that and evidently never will
this man was proclaimed a messiah fifty plus years ago and has thumbed his nose at it ever since. it's what he does

He said a long time ago" I am just a song and dance man".
He did an interview with Ed Bradley on 60 minutes maybe 25 years ago. He tried to make it clear that he only wanted to sell records, the rest just kind of happened by accident.
He doesn't feel like he was ever what others made him out to be.
If that is true, what would he say, when accepting The Nobel Prize? Thanx...but y'all got me all wrong...?

Nobel has been a bullshite award since they gave one to Obama for nothing but getting elected.

Obama getting an award is not something Dylan would have a problem with...

I have talked to the man,1 to 1,He's not weird at all, very straight to points though, more than almost anybody I have ever seen, except for My own Dad( they were born on the very same day),I don't believe in astrology crap, but I didn't have any choice to notice that. They both voiced their opinions without a second thought.similar personalities.

That's not what the committee said. One member of the committee...and there are many members... said that but also added "He is who he is" meaning he understood the enigmatic Dylan. After the media picked up on the story the Nobel Committee did release an official statement
quote:
The Swedish Academy moved quickly on Saturday to distance itself from Mr. Wastberg’s remarks. Ms. Danius said in a statement that every person awarded a Nobel Prize can make his or her own decision about how to respond. “The Swedish Academy has never held a view on a prizewinner’s decision in this context, neither will it now, regardless of the decision reached,” the statement said. “A member of the academy, Per Wastberg, has publicly expressed his disappointment at Bob Dylan’s omitted response. This is Mr. Wastberg’s private opinion and is not to be taken as the official standpoint of the Swedish Academy.”
I'm with Bob. Do your thing.

It is Bob Dylan in typical fashion.
