ETA: Now this thread has me listening to Live and Dangerous.

One of the best live albums of all time although a lot of rumors of overdubbing the guitars. This other live album of theirs on spotify is also bad arse:

Such an underrated band. Lots of gems throughout their albums

I like Thin Lizzy more, but still seems upside down. IMO, U2 are the greatest (more of an accomplishment-based rating), but Thin Lizzy is BETTER. The Cowboy Song is my favorite. Damn, that's sweet.

Agree with 100% of this.

My Bloody Valentine would get my vote.

I dig MBV, but haven't done a deep dive. Pretty much 'Only Shallow'. Didn't know they were Irish. I've heard that in their day they were one of the loudest live bands ever.

I don't know if they were louder, but they damn sure were aggressive and gained some fans in a Southern town when we saw them.

I'd choose Thin Lizzy and never look back
The first concert I ever went to was Queen in '76
Thin Lizzy was warm up
I had no idea what a gem of a show that was until later

He said "Hey man, I know your name"
I seen you cruising with the low riders

Loveless is a classic album that's really good all the way through. Isn't anything doesn't get as much hype, but I like it as much as Loveless.

That's pretty much it from them, until they released MBV 20+ years later. I like that one too. But I try not to listen to it very often to keep from getting burned out before they release another album.

I can't imagine any bands that are more "Irish" than the Chieftains or the Pogues.
