Giving it a first listen. It sounds like they've sort of bridged the gap between their electronic experimentation album from 2018 and their old style. It's intriguing so far with some good guitar work.
I'll give it a few listens before I form a final opinion. It does seem to be an album meant to be enjoyed in its entirety. I've been more passively listening and haven't paid much attention to the lyrics yet.
Trying to get familiar with it since they'll heavily feature this on their upcoming tour

Just listened to it. Agree it's somewhat between their old stuff and newer electronic sound. But still leans a bit too much electronic for me.
Their older work was fantastic and wish they'd return to those roots.

It’s once again not nearly as good as their old stuff. Too much electronic and just doesn’t hit like the first four albums

I think it's awesome. It's like they've perfectly mixed the Simulation Theory vibe to the older style songwriting. It sounds very "Musey".
One of the songs has some parts that sound almost like Pantera.
But definitely more of a vibe/feel based thing than the ultra-crisp songwriting of the glory period (Black holes, The Resistance, The 2nd Law).

I’ve only heard the Hexagon song. I don’t know much about the band but that one is on my playlist.

Haven't listened to them in years. Used to watch their live concert from Rome, I believe it was a ton.

Saw them in Austin last night at the COTA venue. They've still got it as a live performance group. Absolutely incredible show.
