The Strokes - Is This It... very solid record, I havent been impressed with anything sense...

The Killers - I only know one song, Mr. Brightside... it was a nice pop tune..

So, on that, I have to give it to The Strokes

that's a good question...very close, but personally, i have to give the edge to the killers...their cover of romeo and juliet kinda does it for me.

I need to give them more of a listen, my buddy likes them...

They just look like a band my sister would have liked in the 80's, its a block...

I'll check em out tomorrow at work...

killers...and that's saying something because i really like the strokes.

hot fuss is one of my all-time favorite albums.

favorite killers song is probably either smile like you mean it, midnight show, or bling (confessions of a king)

favorite strokes song is either last night or reptilia. is this it is probably my favorite of their cds.

It's crazy how people are torn on these two bands...

It's not lop sided at all it seems..

It's an odd comparison. The Strokes were like garage revival (e.g. The Libertines, The Hives, The Vines) while the Killers had more of a new wavey alternative rock feel (e.g. The Bravery, Franz Ferdinand). Regardless of tags, labels and whatnot, I loved Is This It? and Room on Fire. I also like a few tracks from the Strokes most recent albums as well. I never really got into the Killers, so this is an easy one for me. Mark me down for the Strokes.

eta: I haven't listened to Brandon Flowers solo efforts either, but I really liked Julian Casablancas' Phrazes for the Young.

and to whoever said the strokes sucked at JF last year...fact. the were like 20 minutes late and Julian acted like a cocksucker the entire show. they played their few songs, took their money, and ran. didn't humble themselves to the audience at all.

I think that's his thing. He's kind of an a-hole. Btw, I saw the Strokes at Lolla two summers ago and thought it was a great show.

I enjoy both bands but would choose The Killers because their songs are a bit more radio friendly. I can sing a long to many of their songs. The same can't be said of the Strokes.

Killers > Strokes.
