re: The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has long been a joke, but this year may be the worst ever

Bad Company is questionable, but I can accept it.
If nothing else, it gets Paul Rodgers in - and that's worth it. And, I think Bad Company is underrated.

It's already a joke. Why not Joe Cocker?

It's not a songwriters award. How many hits did Elvis write?
Cocker had 13 consecutive studio albums hit the 200 - and I'm not saying it is a pop award, but to diminish his contributions by calling him a "cover" act - his covers were often head and shoulders better than the original, seems weak sauce in this case.
Plus, there are major and minor branches of rock - "blues rock" is one of the major branches and his was one of the best (and certainly most unique) voices of that branch.
Now, am I the biggest Joe Cocker fan in the world? No. But, again, clown show/joke as the HOF is, if:
A Tribe Called Quest
Cher
Mary J. Blige
Willie Nelson
George Michael
Missy Elliott
(and that's just going back 2 years)
are in, then Joe Cocker can be in the "Rock" (snicker) HOF.

Wow, do you even like classic rock ? This band should have been in years ago.

Looks like a " participation " HOF. It should be like the baseball HOF....very hard to get into. Another words, Elvis, The Beatles, The Stones, etc.

Smashing Pumpkins haven’t even been on a ballot.

Yea, some of these look acceptable, only in comparison to past inductees.

No New Order? That alone shows how big of a joke this is.

Gotta have some DJ Acid for the GHB classic, right?

Yet none of the ones you listed deserve to be in before Jethro Tull.
