Any of y'all fans of The Replacements ? I listened to them a lot in the 80's, and really liked them. Just recently started getting into their music again. Their live shows are legendary.

This was one of my favorite album of theirs

What are your thoughts on this band ?

I've always thought of them as a band you're supposed to like, but they're only "kinda good." Like Sonic Youth.

Bought Let It Be in a Record Bar in the local mall based on the cover.

That's sort of how you discovered new music in bayou country.

As a someone who grew up in the 80s.. REM were my Beatles and the Replacements were my Stones...

When they were on it, it doesn't get any better...

A few years back, when in Minneapolis, I had to go by the Let it Be house, bob's bench and cap it off with a couple of drinks at the CC Club... great times!

They are college alternative royalty.

One regret while DJ in college was not taking up my music director when he had passes and interview set up with them at Tipatina’s. Had a test and scheduled to work so passed on the offer. Ugh.

Good analogy. Never thought of it that way but it makes sense. Saw them open for Tom Petty at Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta in 1989 and they didn't seem like they wanted to be there as the crowd was not into them (shame).

Paul Westerberg's solo stuff is worth checking out too.

I read/heard that somewhere years ago and thought it fit perfect, but I can't remember who to attribute it to..

Found this on one of my music hard drives. It's a 4 disc set of alternate takes and studio sessions. Some really great stuff on it. In addition to songs that made it onto their albums, it has a several songs I have never heard them do...Jungle Rock, Temptation Eyes, If Only You Was Lonely.

Let It Be/Tim/Pleased To Meet Me. May be my favorite 3 album run of any band. I could easily throw in Don't Tell a Soul. That's up there with Murmur through LRP.

Pleased to Meet Me is a great album. Not a bad cut on it.
The Ledge, Skyway and I Don't Know are my favorites off that album.

Great memories of this bop during the ‘90s.

obviously they were a band that mattered but their live shows were pretty hit and miss, mostly miss. The one I saw was bad. They were all pretty damaged people
