The harmonizing with Cantrell was better than Staley solo. Also the new guy sounds great live.

I was YouTubing around earlier and I had totally forgotten that Staley didn't even know most of the words during the epic Unplugged show. Dude laid down masterpieces while drugged out of his gourd and reading off of a page. Unbelievable.

One of the few voices that makes me want to kill puppies. I can't think of a worse sound in all of music. This is just my opinion and says nothing about you.

The man had, probably, the most unique voice in music history.

DuVall doesn't have Layne's voice, but he damn sure comes close!

R.I.P Layne

AiC forever.

You cannot under value the impact and cost of heroin on rock and roll music. Made a lot of very gifted people more gifted but dead early.

Limelight and Fly By Night are two of the best songs ever made.

Heard his vocals on Another Brick in the Wall cover today. Just turrible.

...was never even described like that until he passed away. And AIC were one of my favorite bands for a long time.

This is hilarious. Especially in a thread with such a funny title. I mean, I've heard better sounds come from my dog's arse than anything from Staley. Just comedy all around I guess

Staley's voice made Alice In Chain's vocals so haunting. Him and Cantrell together were mind blowing.
