I have no idea why, but for some reason I've been thinking you've been living in oxford for years.

Not only have I never lived in Oxford I've only been to the city once

Well, thanks for ruining my mental image of you!

There are more important thing than politics.
Like music.
I love squeeze too. I wore them out in the 80's and have only recently revisited.
Beatles-10cc-Todd Rundgren-Jeff Lynne ELO-Supertramp-Split Enz-Squeeze-Crowded House-Neil Finn-XTC-that is quite a Genius Pop Progression.

Hey pimp, speaking of Rundgren, is "Something/Anything" a great album or what. I think I wore out two vinyl versions. And for fun, listen to a couple of cuts from his 60's band The Nazz.

Racists.
All of you.

Yeah , what a great album. I grew up hearing all those songs but never in an album format until I was probably 20 years old. I think the fact that Rundgren produced XTC's Skylarking caused me to revisit him in the 80's.

Age....very old
I really have tried to like all music, just ain't happening.
Cut my teeth on the Beatles, Hippies, and AM radio. Went to heavy metal, then reggae thru the 70's. Had all of Mahavishnu Orchestra and Steely Dan. Some of my lady friends enjoyed funk, so I became a Bootsy man. Loved R&B from the 60's and 70's, folk as in Dylan, classic rock of all sorts.
But, as I've stated before, the "blues" hit me hard a few years back, and the more I discover, the deeper the worm hole goes .....
so bomb away ......

K9-
I'm 23. I like most everything minus EDM, pop country, shitty rap, and stuff that plays on the radio today.
favorites at the moment include: The Replacements, Jesus and the Mary Chain, Little Feat, Sly and the family stone.
Other favorites: The Band, RHCP, Pixies, Paul McCartney and Wings, Van Morrison, plus I enjoy most of the classic 60's and 70's bands.

I never did one and I just finished family shite for the night and have nothing else to do
Hello. I'm danman.
I enjoy a lot of different kinds of music. Recently I've been really into stuff from the late 70's and early 80's. My favorite types of music are Phish, early 90's rap, post-punk, prog rock, funk, reggae, and certain types of electronic music (mostly downtempo).
My favorites include: Phish, Brian Eno, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Frank Zappa, Kool Keith, Three Six Mafia, The Smiths, Elton John, and a whole frick load of other stuff I don't feel like listing
The Who fricking suck. Big time. That's the only individual group I can think of right now that I truly hate.
I strongly dislike all pop music made from about 2005 and on. Jazz doesn't do much for me. I find most indie music boring and pretty empty of anything really genuinely original.
Country music is fricking awful, obviously. Punk is alright, but kind of all sounds the same to me. Same thing with blues.
Rap music is essentially dead now. The genre is controlled by little wieners from suburbia now, and the genre as a whole has lost it's edge and my interest.
Merry Christmas

Ok, I hate being the last post on a page. I need people to pay attention to my posts and like me. I require validation from this board to feed my low self-esteem. I'm a pretty pathetic individual. So here:
I never did one and I just finished family shite for the night and have nothing else to do

Punk is very top-heavy as a genre. The good stuff is real good, the bad stuff is real bad.
Check out Double Nickels on the Dime by the Minutemen if you haven't already. That and London Calling are both fantastic, diverse albums with roots in punk.
