Worth seeing each in concert or no? They're each playing in New York within a few days of each other and thought it'd maybe be a good get away for myself & my husband.

Have never seen either one; had Eagles tickets for NOLA but had to sell due to an obligation with one of our children.

I've seen both twice. I wouldn't travel to see either. Last time I saw Clapton about 6 or 7 years ago, I wanted to take a nap it was so boring. And I really like Clapton.

UGH...thanks for the honesty but I guess I was hoping I'd hear they were awesome.

That just depends on how desperately you want to see them. I can't speak for the Eagles because I've never seen them (not a hater just never have made the effort). I've seen Clapton a few times and he seems to run either hot or cold. If he's got somebody on tour with him that will push him a little bit, he's amazing. For example the tour he did with Winwood was really good. Otherwise he can have a tendency to mail it in.

Thanks ... didn't even check to see who if anyone was with Clapton. Jimmie Vaughan and Gary Clark. My husband plays guitar and loves blues etc so Vaughan may actually be something he'd enjoy.

The Eagles are alone -- if we opted for San Fran or San Diego the Doobie Brothers and Zac Brown are with them there. That I think would be awesome.

Was just trying to kill two birds with one stone if the artists are worth it. Billy Joel plays often in NYC but isn't scheduled close to Clapton or the Eagles.

Gary Clark, Jr. would push it over the top for me. That guy is damn good live.

Also noticed that Paul Carrack (replaced Jools Holland in Squeeze) is playing keys in his band.

I've seen Clapton twice and literally almost fell asleep both times. He does not know how to pace his shows. I know he's a blues guitarist but two hours of completely slow music sucks. Once I saw him when he had a new release out and that was all he played for the first hour (slow songs that were all unfamiliar to the audience). Never again will I attend one his shows!

Well, I don't really care for the Eagles and they put on a good show both times I saw them. I only say I wouldn't travel to see them because I'm not a huge fan of theirs. My wife's dad LOVES them and has taken us both times I've seen them. So if you and your husband like the Eagles, it's probably worth traveling to see them.

The Joe Walsh songs were awesome, and the highlights of both shows I saw, but I'm a huge Joe Walsh fan. He only played 2 or 3 songs though.

Saw the Eagles in NOLA and they were great. You get bonus Vince Gill as well.

Don't even know who Gary Clark is. Guess I need my jobs to get home and check out a calendar.

Tedeski Truck Bamd is also playing so that could be a double bonus although he's seen them here at the Heymann but I didn't.

We never really had a honeymoon 26 years ago and did a family weekend at Toledo Bend for our 25. Maybe it's time to splurge.

Thanks everyone.

Love the Eagles. I've seen them five times I think. They were great the first four times. The fifth time was "good". My opinion was that Henley sounded much worse than he did the other shows I saw. Not sure if it was just a bad night or a common theme with him now, but the energy wasn't there.

Saw the Eagles the other night. They were incredibly good but I wouldn’t take a long trip just to see them though

I gave my son and his wife tickets for the Nashville show. He said it was a great show. Saw Clapton on his 40th anniversary tour. I enjoyed it but I a big Clapton fan. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Never saw the eagles

Saw Clapton and was bored

Wouldn’t do a tight trip to see either (in and out for concert only) but if doing a week in NYC as the primary goal and a concert as extra fun — go for it.
