I actually got this in my first batch of 'free' tapes from Columbia. And it was without a doubt the best one of the bunch. Blew me away.
Other than Rush's 'Exit Stage Left', I can't remember a single other album I got from Columbia.

Love is genius. Inordinately and unintentionally so.
Electric is 'lets do one for the yanks'. Very, very good, and intentional. More powerful, less soulful.

saw them open for Metallica in 89' ... steve jones from the sex pistols had joined the band (maybe as a fill in).
such a great album and time for that band .. though i hear they still bring it

This album was the turning point in my taste in music. Before I heard it, I was all about album rock and metal. I wasn't interested in any of the bands that were up and coming at the time. Then I heard this album and realized that I'm probably missing out on a lot of good music. It led me down the road to alternative rock or college rock or whatever you wanted to call it.

Ian Astbury produced an album he just released Fire & Gasoline. Ian and Axl Rose sang on one song. At the time, Micky Curry was the drummer for the Cult but played on that album. Billy Duffy did a solo on a song.

I have seen them close to 20 times and not every show was stellar, bu the music has always been solid. Once or twice the sound was off but musically they have rarely missed. I will give you that when Ian is being a dick it can take away but Billy still kicks it with the best of them.
The 3 shows at the varsity i have been to were tremendous.
