The Black Keys: No Rain, No Flowers

I listened to The Black Keys new album No Rain, No Flowers. I do not like it and only found one song I even remotely thought was good. I know bands progress and change their sound over the years, but this is ridiculous. The last decent album they put out since Brothers was Delta Kream.

El Camino, Turn Blue, Rubber Factory, “Let’s Rock”, and Dropout Boogie are incredible albums and that’s me saying 5/6 since Brothers.
This new album has some good ones, Man on a Mission is old Keys.

Yes, Man On A Mission was the only one I cared for.

Dan Auerbach's The Arcs has been better than The Black Keys lately.

Sounds more like a Dan solo album than a keys album to me.

It's a rough one.
Feels like an angle towards adult contemporary pop music....

I liked el Camino better than brothers. Besides that, I pretty much agree they lost whatever edge they had long ago. I listened through the new one once and probably took 10-15 minutes to conclude I didn’t like it.

Rubber factory was way before brothers.

Spotify has 2016 (where I got that from)
I always thought it looked 03-05ish. I don’t know what it is about to google it
Edit: 04, ok so still without it 4/5

Terrible. May as well be a completely different band than the one I liked 15-20ish years ago. That’s fine, bands change. I just don’t like this one

Haven't listened to the newest album but El Camino, Delta Kream, and Ohio Players were definitely solid. I was pleasantly surprised by Ohio Players because it definitely had an old Black Keys feel to it.

Gtfo. I can see people not liking their newer stuff but they had an insane run their first 10 years or so and they are absolutely incredible live.
You know, I own a few of their early albums and I tried getting into them a few times. It didn't work, they come across as hipster posers. I found zero authenticity in their music. If you love them, great, enjoy the suck.

Well this is just ridiculous
People had some kickback to their 3rd album because the sound changed a bit and it was because they finally could afford better equipment and a better studio. It was just two dudes making rock/blues music.
And Dan Auerbach is just an incredibly talented musician and guitarist. If someone doesn't like the voice or song writing that is understandable, but his talent is off the charts. And like I say, they are about as good as it gets live. I've seen probably 200+ bands live from across all genres, and very few if any put on a better show than The Black Keys.

Well this is just ridiculous I get not liking them, obviously tastes differ, but this is just something you've made up in your mind. For their first few albums they were as authentic and raw as you're going to get with a rock band.

I'm glad you enjoy them. I do not.

Their last album sucked bad. The first one I haven't liked
I don't have much hope for this one. I'm sure not going to buy it before hearing it

It was uneven but I enjoyed a lot of it. A little more funk than normal.

Bought the vinyl... Experience a bit of remorse. I'll stick with the new Lord Huron.
