Not saying they deserve top 25, but honestly, Weezer is one of my favorites of the last 20 years.
also - while I love Alex Chilton, I think one could argue that Television and Tom Verlaine were just as influential

If the Byrds hadn't recorded that song, there wouldn't be 1000 people in the US that ever heard it.

Yeah, I'd say so. I mean it is only on one of the greatest albums of all-time.

bullshite list without Aerosmith.
And The Eagles at 25? I call double bullshite.

I agree. That horrible a$$ band shouldn't be on the list at all.

Dylan's "Tambourine Man" blows the Byrds' version out of the ballpark just like everyone else's "Knockin on Heaven's Door"

Oh, and Motley Crue is the band the got me into punk. I heard them and thought, "this is the worst shite I have ever heard in my life. There must be something else other than this stale glammy crap that the radio is shoving down my throat out there.

I don't have a huge problem with most of the bands being on the list. But holy shite, those rankings are terrible.

not on the list because they blow.
IMO:
1. CCR
2. Allman Brothers Band
3. The Band (if you go by what Bob is saying)
4. Grateful Dead
5. The Doors
I could maybe see Journey, Boston, Aerosmith, or Lynyrd Skynyrd replacing 4 and 5, depending on taste. pretty huge drop after that. then you have bands like Pearl Jam, RHCP, Dave Matthews Band (if they count).
