No joke, no irony -- I would honestly rather listen to this than many bands on that list. At least it isn't sterile, calculated, soulless, bombastic pomposity.

i dont think ou are a dim guy, i really dont. its just shameful that a talented band is missing out on attention because you keep talking about that disaster call the shaggs.
im baffled how anyone can enjoy that music without being a troll. i could honestly see gaucho or some other dumbass pimping that band.

A band such as...?
I would rather listen to The Shaggs than Journey, Styx, or Rush. If those acts are "missing out on attention" because of it, good.

I have been baffled for 20+ years how anyone can listen to rap.
I enjoy this far more than the entire Led Zeppelin catalog (much of which was stolen anyway). One of the comments states it perfectly:

I understand you feeling the way you do. I look at it as "Outsider " music. As such, it is enjoyable and refreshing. If you are looking for musical virtuosity,? this ain't it. You would probably hate "The Shaggs" but they, along with The Ledge, make me want to smile

They may not be the best, but I love KISS, Van Halen, and Chicago....
<------- Chicago especially for this guy. Terry Kath was terrific on guitar and had soulful vocals. RIP.

You missed the joke completely. Skaggs !
I realize that term may be a little dated for you

they intentionally made the distinction that singular artists would not be counted only bands.
These are not singular artists. They are the leaders/conductors of bands. I'm not sure any of them did much solo work without the rest of the group.

Steely Dan. Just their Aja album alone is amazing enough for other bands careers. Blind melon, al dimeola, literally hundreds of bands. I never pimp journey or Styx. There are tons of bands that I don't get, but everyone loves, or cites as influences... For the most part I just leave them alone. Pixies, wilco, pavement, etc. Never heard anything I enjoyed, but I get that someone could like them.

My vote is Creedence Clearwater Revival, despite their short run.

A team. I got 'em working in shifts.

Also, if your response to seeing the group Outkast in a post is "get out of here with that ghetto shite", then the joke is on you.
