If Talking Heads reunited and started touring, would they be considered a major festival headliner?
I'd love to see them headlining at Hangout or Jazz Fest but I wonder if them being an "older band" would keep them out of the headline spot.

Santana, Phish, Clapton, and Springsteen all headlined Jazz Fest this year. Each band has been around 30+ years.

I don't see it happening though. I'm pretty sure Weymouth and Byrne hate each other's guts.

Eh... David Byrne IS the Talking Heads and he tours semi-regularly. Would the name itself bring more hype? Of course.
I'd compare it to the Police's reunion tour in 2007, albeit on a tad smaller scale.

David Byrne by himself would probably be a headliner for Jazz Fest. Talking Heads together would be something of a big deal.

They absolutely would. Hell, Byrne and St. Vincent garnered top tier festival billing.
Byrne is brilliantly creative, and knows it, for better or worse. Personalities like that are domineering, so it's easy to see how everyone else would get fed up with him steering the music where he wanted and into performance art. Especially when you have two other extremely talented collaborators in Weymouth and Chris Frantz.

Yes, they'd be a headliner. Yes, I love them. No, I would have no real interest in their reunion. Most reunions are pretty terrible. We're talking about a band who would be 40 years past their prime. It would be such a paycheck. Good for them if they can do it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see them

I remember an interview when Ric Ocasek (Cars) said he wouldn't want to be in a band where he couldn't write all the songs.

I don't see the group being a bigger draw than Byrne by himself. Either way, I don't see them as headliners. Byrne played the main stage at Bonnaroo a decade ago, but it was the 4pm slot. I think people that are heavy into them buy in, but few bands are so black and white. I know as many people who have them in their Top 5 as people who have no idea who they are/they like that one song they did.
