I don't mind an occasional cover band, but the Varsity had gotten really bad about booking cover bands. How many 80s nights do you really need to have in a month?

Honestly, Zoso is the only cover band I would pay money for, which is why I suggested it

I'm not into cover bands at all, but for young people like me, Zoso is the closest thing to a Led Zep concert as we can get

dj craze-hip hop turntablist set(would have to couple him with someone else to draw a crowd. he would steal the show though no matter who you put with him)
dieselboy(this is somewhat feasible. played with the roots years ago in nola)
danny tha wildchild(feasible also. played at club culture in BR)
phantom 45(feasible and he is a sucker for going out in nola i think)
pendulum-live(not possible)
dj fresh-live(not possible)
andy c and friction(better chance at hitting the lottery)

How about these

<---- guys right here. Assuming they put out another album soon.

I completely agree with the "Cain's" poster, too. That was a pretty great list. The person who responded with bands from that list that the Varsity has booked listed the worst of the group, in my opinion, of course.

if she's playing Voodoo, as is suspected, then there's no reason she shouldn't be able to hit BR if the varsity comes knocking

Lots of event coordinators put a radius clause in the contract. For example, say if I am booking Foster the People to play at Tipitinas. I'll put a 75 mile radius clause in the contract meaning that they cannot play at any other venue within a 75 mile radius from Tipitinas.

One that I would personally really like would be Wayne Toups. A zydeco night would be awesome. He puts on one hell of a show and he does smaller venues and festivals a lot.

If you were to somehow snag Explosions in the Sky, I think that would be pretty amazing.

But that won't happen since they have already passed Louisiana on their tour.
