I didnt even know they were still a band...

He's currently touring with a new band now playing all of Core and Purple. I guess they're officially a cover band.

I love some STP and think he is underrated as a singer and performer. Hate he is such a f-up.

Let me guess...
Erratic behavior due to drug abuse?

likely.
weiland was denying the rumors as recently as yesterday.
he claims he ruffled some feathers pushing to put out a new cd of STP material. he also said that he really wanted the band to do the core tour that he ended up booking on his own, mentioned above. they were against it as a group, and him booking it solo may have more to do with it than drug use. or him thinking it would go over ok might be a symptom of drug use!

Well they might as well change their name now because STP is officially dead

He IS the band, how do they fire Scott?

you could have said that 5 years ago. as long as theres money to be made off the name, i wouldnt rule out a reunion down the line.
they will likely nab someone and do a seperate project, similar to when they got richard patrick from filter to fill in under the name army of anyone and scott went with velvet revolver.

This. When Scott is sober and on top of his game, I've never seen a better frontman. That being said, I was at the Houston show where he fell on the wagon and it was embarassing. I think he'll land on his feet and be fine though. I'm not sure about the DeLeos and Kretz. Anyone remember Army of Anyone?

No doubt. They put out some of the best a capella hits of all time.

They played the River Center on that tour...no more than a couple thousand people there, it was pretty sad. Damn good show though!

Better than anything STP has put out since Tiny Music, honestly.
Try not to forget that the Deleos wrote damn near every note the band ever played. Weiland was a lyricist who only had a handful of credits for writing "music."

I caught them at the Hard Rock on that tour. They did a great job but the crowd just didn't get into it. Very sad.

dean deleo is very underrated in his contributions to the band.
weiland is charismatic as hell on stage, but deleo is very much the music end of the band.

i think that's what makes his persona great. He's easily been the best frontman for a while now IMO. He's actually an intelligent but bottled up basket case with powder keg potential and he makes no apologies.

Shangri La Dee Da - great album. Only tracks that got any airplay were Days of the Week and Hollywood Bitch but Hello It's Late is a top 10 STP track for me.

It was better than 4 but not Shangra-la and STP IMO.

Not saying there not talented at all. Just saying Scott is more known to the common music fan and can be successfull without them.
