Those guys are stupid. They have more than enough hits to tour every couple of years as STP, play the hits, make money, and go home

as i posted up thread - if scott is to be believed - it seems that is exactly what the band wanted to do and he had larger aspirations recently pushing to record a new album and saying he was tired of the same old greatest hits shows. when the band said no he decided to do it anyway.

frankly hes always seemed pretty manic (not just drug addicted) with that regard so a sudden burst of creativity and ambition that he cant tolerate the band getting in the way of followed by let downs and depressed drug use problems that crush the end product/tour would seem like a pretty basic cycle for him.

Well, he seems to be the one cashing in with Greatest Hits shows now, so there's that. There's also the fact that he's a junkie and junkies are programmed to lie.

Like he's suddenly writing music? I wonder how much he's paying a bunch of hired guns to play notes that he had no part in writing...

again, suddenly wanting to and thinking he can and would be amazing at it would make sense with him being manic. that doesnt mean he actually has the ability to be good at it.

this band had more potential than 99% of band started in the last 20 years or so.... #wastedtalent

it is a shame, because he is charismatic as anything. i saw him with velvet revolver in a club setting before their first cd was released and he was AMAZING. small, small place and was front row - one of the better shows ive ever been to (and ive been to far more than my share)

the deleo bros are, though not groundbreaking in their music, still very talented as well.

that early 90s scene was just littered with bands that had so much potential come up so short of seeing it.

I don't think he's permanent. At least I hope not. They just did that one song with him.

As others have said in this thread, they're kinda shite without him.

Weiland was one of a kind (and probably the best frontman of the 90s IMO). STP needs someone flamboyant and slightly metro like him. I just can't picture anyone else doing STP as well as him.

All joking aside, I thought they did a couple years ago.

dean deleo is very underrated in his contributions to the band

Im pretty sure the checks he cashes help him get over it. Guy is absolute machine as a writer

This dude's voice has been gone for almost a decade, he lip synched two complete tours.

PR move, and a bad one

Dean is the man, but SW is a decent writer when he can put his thoughts together

This has to be a joke.

STP has reached a new low.

that crappy band should have been terminated entirely after their passing moment of relevancy in 1994.

I agree with this statement. I still think he's a one-of-kind frontman for a group like STP.
