Following Auggie's lead, I figured I'd share this one I finished this week. The shop's Facebook fans said some really nice things about it and you guys like eye candy too :)

A "Contour Tele" (added arm and tummy cuts) with my Carondelet T set, in a mid-60s tribute "ice metallic blue"

Like all the Fender custom colors of the late 50s and 60s, its inspiration and origin of this blue was Detroit.

Those contours are a real treat. My fender American standard doesn’t have them and it can really rub me the wrong way during long gigs.

Looks great - the antiquing is tastefully done

I'd kill for a classic Tele look/body but with a flat radius fretboard and thinner neck

Look at the Teles offered by Charvel and ESP/LTD. The late 80s Hamer TLE is a great candidate too if you can find one and are willing to cough up the current asking prices.

Awesome! Love the color. Love those old Fender colors. If I ever get another Fender it will most likely be Fiesta or Dakota red. I already have a Candy Apple red jazz.

Do you spray those bodies, or do you get them already sprayed? If you do spray them, do you ever attempt any translucent colors like sunburst, blonde, or Mary Kay?

I can spray bodies but I don't. If you build the booth and facility and equip it with what you need to be legal at all regulatory levels and get superior results, a non-full-time painter would be spraying for YEARS AND YEARS to just break even. I have a few painters I work with depending on if I'm seeking nitro or a poly.

I'll start a separate thread with the most recent transparent finish instrument I fabricated. You as a bassist will like the paint and a lot of other things about it :)

Nice. The next body I buy, is probably going to be finished already.
I don't mind the sanding and staining so much, but drilling those holes was time consuming, especially the ones for the neck screws. Since that neck came off of a factory guitar, it already had the holes in the neck. I was determined to hit them perfectly and I did, but it took me a bit of time to make sure I got it just right.
and the wood flaked a little around the string ferrules when I pressed them in. It'll b a simple fix, but still, I think I should have done better.
I should have beveled the edge underneath on the ferrules, or at least rounded them a little.
I'm going to turn all my attention to my LP jr. for now though. I've got my mistake fixed on the headstock and have a mahogany veneer on the front and it turned out pretty well. The headstock and the new pickguard came out of the same piece. I think that's going to look nice. I'm going to do an amber/gold transparent stain on both and try a pearl clear coat. It may work, it may not, but if it doesn't, it's not very hard to redo it.

That's a great color, would be even better on a strat.

It should go without saying that everyone has the right to be wrong about this question. Doesn't make them not wrong, though.

If you want a Carondelet version of what you describe, with a soapbar or dogear custom wound to your specific needs and tastes, call me during business hours and we'll talk shop.

I’ve always wanted a tele by a certain BR player. How about a Carondelet Chris Leblanc tribute? Maple neck, ebony fret board, swamp ash body, loaded with Carondelet Classic 2 (Chris’ tele has Tom Holmes HBs), and a single volume knob.

I've been wondering about this same thing for my LP jr., a P90 with an Esquire type circuit. Will it work?
The p90 that it has, sounds really good, I would just like to get more variation.
It could be damn near perfect.

My good friend Tim Lawson at Tim's Guitar Workshop here in BR built the red HH Tele for Chris, it would be more appropriate for him to offer that tribute axe.

Besides, Chris likes my builds and my take on them, and my custom wound pickups as well. So much on the former, he made me take this pic of him with my personal "contour tele" to prove he has dibs if I ever sell it. He and I have been good friends since we were teenagers.
