If you are close to Baton Rouge schedule a setup with TheFretShack, or as he calls it, a “spa day.” A good setup will do wonders. I’ve done this route via River Road at least a dozen times. I usually take 30 south to 3115 to cut down the miles. You can certainly ride the levee top the whole way. It’s mainly compact and light gravel.
I’ve always done this ride in spring or fall. It’s best to start before 7am and on a weeken...

Silvertide was great! I saw them at Mules in Hammond and Clicks in BR after their album came out.

Fret Shack, hands down! The man is an absolute ARTIST when it comes to luthier work. Just scroll through the Facebook page to see all the detailed work he puts into each instrument. Not sure you will find anyone as knowledgable or detailed as Fret Shack in the southeast US when it comes to guitars....
