Songs that are just blatant ripoffs

I'll start this show:
Listen to:
Ok Go -- This too shall pass
And then either:*
Bob Marley -- Duppy Conqueror
and/or
Bob Marley -- Mr. Brown
Methinks this borders on actionable copyright infringement. Not quite to a Vanilla Ice / Queen level of thievery, but just a step behind.
Your turn.

*The Bob Marley songs are essentially two variations on the same song. We'll call them cousin songs. There is a story behind how that came to be, but said story falls well outside the purview of this thread. Google it if interested.

I like that song. I picked up on the Marley thievery about five seconds into my first listen, but the song sounds good, imo.
Haven't heard much Ok Go beyond that.

How many OPs are you going to end with asterisk disclaimers?

Oasis "sampled" a lot of different riffs and tunes for their songs
Beginning of "Don't Look Back In Anger" and the Beatles' "Let It Be" is a good example

Chris Brown - Yeah 3x
ripped off
Calvin Harris - Not Alone
You may not be familiar with the Calvin Harris song, but it was #1 in the UK.

Broseph, Noely G admits to ripping the song off. Liam even sang the lines of the Coke song live. He definitely sampled heavily, imo making the original songs much better.

I think Toby Keith's "Bullets in the Gun" was eerily similar to REK's "Road Goes On Forever"

You and everyone else. So much so that REK wrote a song about Toby Keith being an unoriginal douche, more or less
The Road Goes On and On

How is it a ripoff when it is widely known and they acknowledge that Dylan wrote the chorus? haha. That is all Dylan wrote though, they wrote the rest of the lyrics

I've heard this from multiple people -- including Noel himself, of course -- but I don't think the similarity is striking. I never thought a thing about it until somebody said something and I listened real real close.

I do. The least the "Of monsters and men" guy could have done was given Ed Sharpe's wife a courtesy bang while he stole from him.
