Smashing Pumpkins- Mayonnaise

IMO, one of the best songs of the 90s and best smashing pumpkins song ever made.

I agree. Mayonaise is one of my all time favorite songs ever. I just hear it and it immediately invokes a calmness in me. The song has everything you could want in a song imo.

My favorite part of the song...

Fool enough to almost be it
And cool enough to not quite see it
And old enough to always feel this
Always old, I'll always feel this

No more promise no more sorrow
No longer will I follow
Can anybody hear me
I just want to be me

agreed, reminds me of my dad, so much.

I Will Always Love You

Dolly singing- & No Woman, No Cry - Bob Marley - when wife left

Broken Radio - Green On Red - wife came back (kind of a cheesy song but) i think i heard it in high school and had forgotten about it. heard it again as on older person on a trip to see her.

Daughter - Loudon Wainwright - think of my oldest daughter

Kiss Me Deadly - Generation X - reminds me of me and the wife when we were young

I Want You Now - Depeche Mode - a girl from high school

Wonderful Tonight - Clapton - our wedding song

This Woman's Work - Kate Bush - don't know why, maybe the video adds to it

Sweet Jane - Cowboy Junkies - her voice and the song are just amazing

2000 miles & I'll Stand By You - The Pretenders - other "i'm not sure why" songs

I Believe - Stevie Wonder - reminds me of another girl

Who By Fire - Leonard Cohen - song that makes me think about my mortality

the world at large-Modest Mouse

first song that I listened to after finding out I was going to have a child. Also listened to the CD a lot while driving through New Zealand with my wife.

Hit 'em up by Tupac is a song that actually makes me feel the artist's anger. Few songs can do it.

Walking in memphis by Marc Cohn makes my hair stand on end. Not sure why. Same goes for several songs by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I'm not sure what emotion you call this, but Karen O's voice gives me chills.

I'm also not sure what emotion the song Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson inspires in me. But it's something.

Tupelo Honey by Van Morrison takes me back to a happy place that no longer exists. I hear it and I get different emotions fighting each other.

Signs by Bloc Party and What Sarah Said by Death Cab for Cutie both make me kinda sad.

The song Breakdown by Mariah Carey is just vocal virtuosity exemplified. This song will takes me on a bit of an emotional ride.
