They've written some of the best lullabies in the business.

Before "I will wait"?
They were an iconic, original, shimmering example of heartfelt folk music that should be respected for its artistic merit and soulfulness.

I know many people that hate M&S now, that loved "Little Lion Man" when it first started playing on satellite radio, which is usually several months before FM radio

I liked little lion man then I realized everything else sounded exactly like little lion man. There's only so much a man can take.

I still like Timshel, but they really have not done anything to develop their sound at all. I'm not a hater of the band by no means though. I just wish they would switch it up.

Once you realize every song is this:

why switch it up when it is still bring them success... makes no sense at all to do something like that.
I am willing to be that their next album will bring a little something extra to the table but it wont be completely different.

"Little Lion Man"
their worst song IMO

I'll take heavy strumming over synths and the computerized garbage that a lot of bands are leaning towards these days.
They've released two albums. They have plenty of time to "switch it up."

Wouldn't call it their worst, but I'm not a fan of it either.
Sigh no more is 100x better than babel. I still enjoy their music, but its pretty repetitive. I'm going to their nola concert and I'm very interested in hearing how they sound live

anyone going to see them at the woodlands on Sept 17?

Their first big song that come out was pretty good. Then I just lost interest.

This should be fun.
GTFO and never come back to a Mumford thread.
Yes, they're called idiots.
You and I have very different opinions of "exactly alike". I mean, you can't make it past the first track (Babel) without hearing a pretty big departure from Sigh No More. It's certainly not the slowly building song that people like to say they overdo.
No.
Again, no. Sometimes I wonder about you guys.
You should love it, although based on these comments, I have my doubts.
Thank you. Although their sound is loads more than "heavy strumming".
Indeed, in the same way Babel did, where they introduced a more layered, intricate sound than on Sigh No More.
Some of you sound like the type of people who can only like a band if you feel like you're the only one who knows about them. It's weird. M&S is one of the best musical groups in the world, and should be appreciated, especially for what they are doing at such a young age.
Too much?
