I mean, outside of the original class (which was heavy on Golden Age solo artists, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Fats, Little Richard, etc.), and maybe the '87 and '88 classes (Bo Diddley, Bill Haley, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan), Ozzy has a resume that dwarfs most individual inductees since and certainly, outside of individual Beatles I don't think any have the icon status and as a solo representative for all of the heavier genres of rock music, Ozzy is #1.
ETA: TL;DR - the "Rock" HOF remains a big ole joke.

Yep. Jann Wenner's ridiculous "HOF" monopoly first needs long overdue competition.
Some folks need to create a parallel homage HQ where Rock / Folk / R&B / Pop etc can be acknowledged and honored in sane, sensible categories. Maybe take a cue from Jerry Jones and call it, 'The 'Musical Hall of Honor'.
