Absolutely.

"Sailin' Shoes"
"Hey Julia"
"Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley" (Allen Toussaint)

One of the best three-song medleys in pop/rock history.

A shame almost no one knows,

Johnny and Mary

I am not even sure why I know it. By far my favorite from him.

I always liked Pressure Drop from the eponymous album
Backed by Little Feat and the Muscle Shoals Horns.

LINK

Saw him with Asleep at the Wheel in late 70's.. some small hot club along Nicholson/Highland (help here don't remember).

I Didn't Mean To Turn You On is one of the greatest songs of the 80's. Love that shite.

His early stuff was some of the most supreme white boy funk ever put on vinyl.

His sort of funky/bluesy sound makes me want to blow my brains out.

This. I've liked him going back to his Vinegar Joe days singing 'Never met a Dog'.

Sneakin Sally Through the Alley
Fun Fact - I had a friend named Sally that lived in the Lake Vista section of NOLA in which every street has an alley way. We used to sneak out all the time in the 8th grade when this song was popular.

More fun music related facts about that Lake Vista neighborhood. I was also good Edward Haslam's younger brother who worked with Fess.

quote:

In the 1970s Haslam worked with the piano-player Professor Longhair. When he died in 1980 Haslam got out of the music business and pursued a career in advertising. This included the managing the advertising campaigns for the Chrysler Corporation. As he pointed out: "I went from Professor Longhair to Lee Iacocca in 8 years".

Fantastic song with great bass and drum combo.

Some Like It Hot is also has a ridiculous bass/drum combo with Tony Thompson and John Taylor. That groove before the guitar solo. Also the unique harmonies on the verses almost sound off key but are intentional. Great song.
