If you haven't watched the doc "I'll Be Me" yet, watch it. It's incredible, and incredibly sad.
Watched it and cried, it's amazing how well he could perform knowing how advanced his disease was at the time.

Still one of my favorite songs of all time. Written by Jimmy Webb when he was only 18 years old. Masterful string arrangement.

My grandmother LOVED Glen Campbell.
Gentle On My Mind is arguably my favorite country song.

Incorrect. He had many hits in his long career.
Saw him sing the national anthem at game two of the NBA finals in 1992 at America West Arena in Phoenix. Just him and a guitar. Greatness.

It was good career move for him. After 1967 the Beach Boys became increasingly irrelevant despite putting out some quality stuff after Pet Sounds. Campbell's talents would have been overshadowed by the whole Beach Boy sound.
Bruce Johnston was probably Campbell's biggest fan

Sad that we've lost a good number of musicians from the 60's.

A monster talent, no doubt.
He knew it was coming, he had a farewell tour 3-4 years ago if my memory serves me correctly.
