yeah, i picked RTL just because i really like fade to black. but, both are beyond great. picking one definitely doesn't equal shitting on the other.

Ride the Lightning is my favorite but I do agree about the vocal progression being better on MOP.

Exactly. I like call of ktulu and fade to black a lot. It was a hard choice.

Ride the Lightning. It's just raw enough without being too raw like Kill'em All. Master is just too polished. Incredible by any measure, but just short of RTL By the next one after MoP they were done. Again, still awesome, but they weren't the "real" Metallica anymore.

Master by a hair. Every song on Master is legendary. Ride has Escape. Good song but not great.
