Don't like either anymore. RHCP was done after Mother's Milk. Blood Sugar was a joke. Ten was better than the whole of the Pepper's catalogue. But again, I don't listen to either at this point.

Growing up I would probably say RHCP but the older I am the more I like Pearl Jam. Also I think Eddie has came a long way with singing and I appreciate his acoustic stuff now more.

RHCP is the best funk rock band of all time! They have their own sound. Nobody else e’en comes close.

RHCP. The show they put on when they filled in at the last minute at Jazzfest was epic. I can still feel the bass.

I'm the opposite. Pearl Jam peaked in the 90s and have been kinda boring since then, outside a few things. I loved Pearl Jam when I was a kid. Now, I'm a much bigger fan of RHCP. All the John albums are very good and they still continue to put out great stuff. RHCP is better live as well. Eddie's political rants / songs get a little tiresome at their shows.

When PJ was good they were great, but RHCP stands above for such a crazy range of funk coolness.
Kinda an apples-oranges comparison because PJ was so serious compared to RHCP fun funk.
