I mean I've been talking about fm pop this whole time, I understand there's plenty of great music out there, like that link you sent earlier of baths or whatever, just sucks it gets no recognition.

I think the radio companies decide what you like. Anything with a steady kick drum and hook can be forced with an image to the point where people like it

Thanks man, yeah it's a designed audience. Mass produced for chicks and radio. Play in a few heavier bands though. I just want people to open their minds a little from the everyday garbage like mine haha

many times technical proficiency is turn-off because there's little soul put into the performance. I can think of several Jeff Beck wanna-be's that I'll leave nameless as good examples.

some (most) folks just have simple tastes. How else could one explain how Bud Light is the best selling beer in the US.

Americans are pretty stupid. But that's another forum and another thread.

every generation has thought along those lines. Kafka did in the 70's.

I think it does by the people like yourself and someone like myself and many on this board. I mean are you making your music for recognition and top 40 charts or b/c it's something you love? why do you make music?

BTW, I think your tunes are pretty good. Summer so Far and Letterman I really dig.

yes...but as far as music goes, I don't think there has been a better time, and I'm in my mid-50's. My kids are listening to great stuff they've found on the Internet. Yes, most are niche acts that have little commercial appeal, but there's a ton of great music out there right now. Hell, I'd say 90% of what I listen to I would have never heard of if it wasn't for the net, and sirius to a certain extent.

You should send a link to your stuff to Reg at Birmingham Mountain Radio...he might play a cut on Reg's Coffee House.

Cool man thanks. I mean I have a day job so I guess it's writing for people that may be going through a rough time. Other than that it's a hobby and a passion. I have a feeling if I had to sell out and do stuff others want I'd feel differently.

I was actually being factual and not playing on the board's mentality.

Never mind, listened to a link posted. I like it. Similar to my style, kinda John Mayer acoustic style. I'm a mix of that and Gary Clark Jr. , but obviously just on the style. I'm no where near as talented as they are. Blues is definitely my favorite to play though.

Yes he does...in the sense that a toddler plays guitar, you are right.

You couldn't be more wrong. I have always enjoyed listening to Zappa. You should try it. You might learn a few things while being amused.

I can't remember the soundcloud I have that doesn't include my name, that has some signing stuff.

This is just some improv jamming. Nothing great, but all I can really find. It's from about a year ago.

I love when people act like it's the easiest thing in the world to make music on computers whether it's Edm or hiphop. If you honestly believe it's that easy, then go make us a beat or rhythm and upload it for us to listen.
