People don't actually like to listen to Frank Zappa.
Okay to each his own, never mentioned him.
You don't have to listen to really intense in depth stuff to know that some drum track with electric instruments with the highs too high and lows too low doesn't sound like it was built in a studio.
Like i said, to each his own, just don't argue that it's talent, other than what the producer does.

Is it hard for you to learn new tricks?

I know that. That's why most rap sounds the same. It's why they have to scream their name at the beginning of every song, so you can tell who's who.
Ignorant much? For someone who claims to be a mucial intellect, you sound pretty dumb.

Email? Chicken and the gang frown upon shameless plugging and advertisement on here.

they don't like folks starting SPAM threads to drive readers to their blogs, sites, etc. If someone asks for a link, they won't have a problem if you respond.

I completely agree with you, without trying to condemn "music" that a whole lot of other people seem to like. To me, the test is "Can this be played live?" When you have computer created sound like Daft Punk (and its ilk), who are remarkably popular - how does one know they are actually performing on stage versus simply punching the "play" button on a tape player? To me, it's too far fetched to believe they are doing anything more than replaying their already taped music. Hence, it's not really live. So, what you're going to see, really, is a light show and not a music concert.

But even 90's hip hop was subjective and tasteful.
Nah, it really wasn't but I did learn I was down with OPP.

Correct.
For the other guy asking. iTunes - Matthew Wesley - new album is the circus one. Like I said, it's softer and for a particular audience. If you don't like it, don't listen, but I do play the instruments, sans the drums, and wrote all the arrangements and lyrics.

sorry no one listens/likes your shitty music, and Drake, to you, is talentless but still sell out shows and drop number 1 albums.

My only beef with Drake is that he is a shitty rapper

That's so weird. Cause I could swear I'm on these charts. Guess no one listens though.

Why do you get mad that not everyone has the same opinion about music as you do. Your OP is pure personal opinion.
I'll never understand why people get so butthurt over everyones' taste in music.

I've said numerous times, taste in music is one thing, talent is objective and measurable. Today's music is evolving to a considerably less detailed and structured level. Listen to what you want. But it's no coincidence bieber reared his head during this time frame. You created that.

no
maybe FM pop, but not music in general
like I said, the layers and compositions that we are able to create with computers now makes songs much more detailed and structured then before

No its not. You said music is art, well some people think jackson pollacks a genius, other people think he just dripped some paint on a canvas.
Art and/or music talent is not measurable, its subjective.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Pretty bad I know. I had just started with guitar instead of piano. No mics, new song. The studio stuff is here if you actually want to hear something I worked on.

you're over thinking it... most music is about emotion and not being technically proficient at one's instrument...
so you record it, put it out and let people decide what they like...
