Rain Dogs is the greatest album of the 80’s

And yet no one ever talks about it. I know that I am a Waits fan boy, but I highly encourage everyone to spark a joint, pour a glass of whiskey and listen to this masterpiece from start to finish. Do not give up on it after the first track. It’s like a fungus and you will appreciate at the end. Trust me and you are welcome.

Did you follow my instructions ?

Not sure about greatest, but it’s one of my favorite albums, and he’s one of my favorite artists. However, Small Change is my favorite album of his.

Sorry but not even close to one of the best.

It is definitely one of the best of the 80s... It is my favorite by him..
It probably doesn't get the "credit" or discussion it deserves, because it's not a rock record.. Waits is still somewhat his own genre of music, IMO..

You know after he passes (hopefully not for a long time) many of this board will all of a sudden become huge fans. He is the type of artist that we will see Teens wearing his t-shirts in 2050.

Back in Black, Appetite for Destruction and Fair Warning say hello. And I'm just getting started.

Quite possibly my least favorite voice, ever.

There are definitely other records I prefer from the 80s, but it is a good record. And definitely unique.

I feel that way about Nick Cave.

I'd like to see Waits and Dylan get into the competition on The Voice.

Saw him talking about Keith Richards and his involvement in the album.
Pretty funny.

Love me some Tom Waits. clap hands!
As much as I love Tom, he is a niche artist at best

Well, it isn't Pyromania by Def Leppard, so it cannot be the greatest album of the 80s.

Forgot about Pyromania. Add that one to the list.

I would probably put it in my top 20 but not 1.
