I'm not a huge Dead fan but definitely an admirer of their influence on music in general. I love their song Ripple so my question is: what other songs do they have that you would consider similar to Ripple that I should check out??

workingman's dead & american beauty for studio albums.
for live shows, if you like ripple, then check out the acoustic sets that opened their 15th anniversary shows in september/october 1980 at the warfield in SF and radio city music hall in NYC
you will find those sets on reckoning LINK from 1981 and also on the warfield october 1980 LINK
finally another good entry is the official live album "grateful dead (also known as skull & roses) here LINK

This thread made me discover than the “Deal(Smokin Hot)” from Buffalo ‘89 is no longer on YouTube. Guess I’ll have to run this whole show

New Deadhead here. I have been listening to the Dead only since Covid started last year in February. The more I listen and dig into the endless live recordings the more I am amazing at the music they put out. The same song may have 50 different versions..all great. While not like Ripple per se, take 15 minutes to listen to this one I just found tonight. The last half is an incredible display of guitarmanship. Just one of literally 1000's of songs that make you feel better.

Althea - probably my favorite Dead song. Definitely the one I've listened to more than any other.
Ship of Fools - another favorite
Jack Straw
Fire on the Mountain is another catchy one.
American Beauty (Ripple is on that one) really is one of those rare albums which every single track is great. Candyman has some nice steel guitar in it.

It's up there for me also.
Feel good like Ripple for me would be Sugaree.

Spotify has boatloads of dead on it. A while back they put out all the Europe '72 shows. For a dead noob, that's a pretty good place to start for delving into their early live stuff.

Get the app Relisten. Look up whatever song then go through the years listening to the different versions. Love looks like rain at the spectrum 77

Jack straw- This one from 89 is smoking. It’s also a good song to show you how dead songs change over the years.
