I haven't bought music equipment in a long, long time. But now my son is playing now and I've had to purchase a few things online. Sweetwater has the Chick-fil-A customer service model nailed. They are awesome and go out of their way to help you out. Highly recommend.

If you need a online music store, check them out.

I've only ordered 1 thing from them, that was a computer interface. I ordered it on Thursday, it was delivered on Saturday. After I made my order online, within 15 minutes, a guy from their sales staff called me and shot the breeze for about 45 minutes, and it was just a cheap interface. I've driven by their Facility in Indiana before, it's massive.

I just got some software and their customer service is amazing. I was having some snags getting it running, so I installed their TeamViewer program.

While I was talking to the rep, he was tear-assing around my computer from their HQ and got it running in minutes. It was kind of unsettling at first, I’d never had that kind of work done remotely - glad there wasn’t anything but music on there haha.

I jokingly asked him how often he stumbles on something embarrassing on a customer’s computer and he said “ALL the time, you just don’t mention it and keep working.”

except when you buy too much..

Then your agent,..who doesn't know which time zone you are in..will call at all hours to make sure you're happy with your purchases.

I mean, its good customer service unless you're sleeping.

Could be worse, it could be an indian(motel) calling you about your publisher's clearing house winnings. What name would you like us to paint on your Mercedes sir?

Yep, I'm on the West Coast. For YEARS they didn't seem to have any concept of timezones. I would get calls at 7 am.

Yeah I don’t really need a follow-up call to see how my $10 patch cables are working out for me. I get what they’re trying to do, but still.

I guess that's finally a benefit of being on Eastern Timezone. Lived here for years and never found one until now.

This is how I am. I order a shitload of gear from tbem because they are prompt, consistent, and reliable. While I dont give a rip about all the customer service extra bs and phone calls, I do appreciate that if something werent ever right, they'd take care of it. But when I order something, I just want it to show up. I dont need the followup gladhanding. I just dont answer.

Better than Guitar Center online for sure. The last two things I bought from GC.com were both sold as used in "excellent condition" and both were fricked up. In both cases I had to get with the manufacturers to get something done about it. I can't imagine why they're going out of business.

I love those dudes. When I finally build my studio, I'll use them as much as I can.

My best Sweetwater story is too long to type out, but I will say they are simply the best in regard to online guitar shops, period. They have earned both my shop's and my personal business over and over and over. A++++++

If you get Nate Burkhardt as a sales engineer, he will be all over it. And you will swear you must have saved his life at some point and he owes you a life-debt

It's gotten to a point where I can't trust Amazon anymore. I've been getting a rash of counterfeit or subpar merchandise even when the seller is listed as being the manufacturer.

For this reason I started ordering my music crap off of Sweetwater, AMS, and Guitar Center. I mean, its the same prices just with slower shipping. It kind of tripped me out when Sweetwater assigned me a sales rep who called me to chat. I don't want to have to talk to people, but that definitely got my attention.

I'm definitely going Sweetwater as my first option now. I just ordered some new pickups from them.

Amen. I don't care who it says it is manufactured by, every single thing I have ever ordered off of Amazon is a piece of crap. Every single thing. No one should support that organization. We have a country full of lazy people. Go buy from Sweetwater.

Plus you'll get candy!

Not a big fan of Guitar Center, online or brick and mortar.

Luckily I live in a city with 3 decent local shops.
