Getting the Led out this morning and I immediately, instinctively skip The Crunge without really thinking about it.

The rest of the discography is solid, though.

I used to think that, but then it grew on me. I can’t stand listening to The Ocean anymore.

Just listen to Presence—problem solved!

Led Zeppelin could play almost any style of music but they should've left James Brown funk alone.

I always give it a try because it’s ZEPPLIN! By default it HAS to be good. It’s not.

It's not one of my favorites but I don't mind it. Where's that confounded bridge?

Houses of the Holy was a really nice evolution of the styles they played, though. The Crunge is just one part of the expansion. Then they toned it back down for much of Physical Graffiti, but not all (Down by the Seaside for example).

Funny thing - I played Houses of the Holy this morning, trying to get my seven year-old son moving, and was thinking about James Brown and those chords myself. Also remember my friend, twelve at the time, tell me, "Man, that dude can't sing at all."

I visited some friends in Upstate NY before I went on a backpacking trip in New Hampshire. The wife is a huge Zeppelin fan, but her husband not so much. She knows I like Led Zeppelin, so whenever I visit them she uses my presence as an excuse to play Zeppelin all day and night.

Anyway, a week or so later I'm nearing the end of my trip. I know I should be getting close to a landmark on the trail, but I haven't seen it. I wonder if maybe I unwittingly passed it. Meanwhile, in my head, all I can hear is "Where is that confounded bridge?"

I like The Crunge. Only LZ song that I do not listen to is Trampled Under Foot.

Led Zeppelin was great for the first four albums, not so much for the other four.

Nope, The Crunge is one of my favorite LZ tunes. Pure fricking groove while embracing cheese for the hell of it. That synth patch is so over the top.

Because the first four albums were pretty much other artist's music.

I don't say this about very many songs of any genre, at least songs that an individual named "Fergie" is not singing lead vocals, but The Crunge is unlistenable for me.
