NBA YoungBoy is one of the biggest acts in Hip Hop at just 20-years-old and under home confinement. He’s a controversial artist, but it looks like he’s working on taking control of his destiny.

On Wednesday he took to his Instagram story to reveal that his label blocked his attempt to acquire his Masters. “I said they can have the next 4 albums free all I want is my masters in still got told no,” he wrote. “Dirty game.”

It’s unclear who owns the “Bandit” rapper’s Masters but he’s presumably referring to Atlantic Records, where he reportedly inked a 5 album, $2 million deal three years ago.

No artists really get to keep their masters unless they're fricking on the level. NBA yougboy is a clown that cant read a contract.

Somehow you’ve gained the opinion that people care about the dumb shite you’re posting. I’m here to tell you that we don’t.

There’s a music board for a reason, although I don’t think you’ll have much more luck over there.

Nothing new, record companies never want to give up masters to the artist. He shouldn't have signed the contract if he wanted to retain control of his music.

For a second there I thought he was trying to buy Augusta National.

I didn't realize rap was THAT lucrative.

Motley Crue got their masters from Electra in the late 90's but had to sign an NDA as to how they did it
