The Meters immediately followed the phish on the same stage that evening. Most phish fans exited the grounds to head to bourbon street. this blew me away
I do not recall this at all. Or at least it seemed everybody around us stayed put. Meters played Voodoo Child and brought the house down.
It was the only time I've been at Jazz Fest where so much illegal consumption was out in the open and everywhere.
The next day was the Allman Brothers and still the best sounding open air concert I've seen. I'm not even a huge ABB fan but that show was pretty damn good.
Question about the term Wook or wookie. I know what a wook is and it comes off as derogatory, but it seems it's mostly wooks using that term labeling other wooks. I don't remember this term 20 year ago.

It is looking like Phish will yet again bring in a huge amount of tourists.
NOLA is going to be glad.

Wooks are scum of the earth. They are sad glimpses of what jam bands followings once were. They are only good for doses, goo balls, and 2 for 1 deals on Rolling Rock tallboys.

Cheese shows are Wook central...be prepared for Thursday May 1, 2014

I don't think there will be that many at Jazzfest. Nothing will surpass the amount at Red Rocks. I saw more "need tickets to the next show" signs than I could count.

Will be a festy set, but it will be on the fair grounds so that will make it great. NOLA is about as far as I will travel to see phish right now, so I thank them for that.

I really, really don't think it will be a ACL/Outside Lands run of the mill set

It's their first show back in 18 years...It will be better than a festy set

Yeah, look at the shows Trey and Page have played in NO since '99. Almost every one has some nice local flair for a song or two.
