I guess the good thing is that if I'm forced to be their stage, it'll be interesting to see what puts me to sleep first. Their boring music or the audience body odor.

What acts at Jazz Fest are more exciting than Phish?

Have you even seen them live?

Yep. They are proficient but boring. I fricking loathe jam bands or quasi-jam bands or endless solo after endless solo bands with a passion you wouldn't fricking believe.

I do, however, like them more than I like their obnoxious, shitty fans. A bunch of obnoxious loser, slacker assholes with bad hygiene and worse attitude (not entirely, but enough of them). frick 'em. I'll stay away for the simple reason I have not desire to go to jail for second degree murder.

The fanbase has changed exponentially since then.

Sure, we party hard. Most are clean-cut and have jobs.

Can I count on less hacky sack and whiteboy dreadlocks? Because both are absolutely abominable. In combination their deadly.

I assure you I've partied harder than 75% of them. But I did it like a pro. Not some jerk off amateur.

What's your deal? It's like you are offended that so many people like something.

Jams are not "solos". Sorry you like bland/restricted music with little to no improvisation. I'll bet those 3 minutes of the same song are so sick live.

Attending a Phish concert was a big contributor.

In this particular context it's tomato versus tomahto.

I like all sorts of forms. I will say, however, that it takes a lot of talent to create a well crafted song.

Overly long jams remind me of what one the most talented musicians I ever met once said about jazz . . . the last refuge of the untalented.

Weren't you praising Duane Allman (an innovator of 'jam bands') earlier?
