I've never been able to tolerate Talking Heads. Peter Gabriel is ok.

Saw him live on his Dust tour and it was one of the worst musical shows I've ever seen.

Because that Dust experiment or whatever Turkish/Middle Eastern tone phase he was doing just sucked.

This.
Saw Bauhaus a few years ago at Cruel World and he was incredible. Absolutely owned the stage and never sounded better.

This is a good thread. Really close actually. My favorites are Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel and This Must be the Place by Talking Heads

Can’t go wrong with either but probably Gabriel. Red Rain might be my favorite song of all time.

Gabriel. I don't know that I've ever heard one guy sound more pretentious and full of himself in pop music than David Byrne.

This is related, but IMO, the Secret World Tour and Stop Making Sense are the two best music movies/ documentaries ever made. Even better than 2 great ones: The Lat Waltz and Woodstock.

back in the 90s i was big in the apple/multimedia scene and got to meet him, thomas dolby, the residents and several other folks at conventions in San Fran.
good old days. we all thought the future was going to be bright and glorious.
