Looks like he's focusing really hard to play that E Major chord that nobody is going to hear.

what shows has this happened at?
I've seen it happen at the CMA Fest. One of the biggest country shows of the year.
I'm not saying it happens often. Just saying the song most likely sounded the same even with Kenny's guitar unplugged

I like some chesney tunes in the summer. His first cd and "no shirt, no shoes" cd are both excellent.

Granted alot of his radio singles suck but some the album Be As You Are: Songs From an Old Blue Chair is awesome for cruising around in the boat during the summer.
I can't tell you any song by over from the last 5 or so years, but I will always love his old stuff.

FIFY. If it sounds better, put the damn thing down and concentrate on singing.

Nice try
I'm not excusing Kenny for playing with his guitar unplugged. But where is all the "real artists" should always play their instruments stuff coming from. Go to a George Strait or Alan Jackson show. I don't think anyone here is going to dispute 2 of the greatest country artists of the modern era. Both always have a guitar around their neck. Alan rarely plays. George doesn't play a single song.
What I'm asking is why is this such a big deal? Who cares. I know they can all play guitar because at one point or another they were all sitting on a bar stool playing by themselves. Kenny only has his guitar for a handful of songs during his show anyway.

I've met Kenny in a small bar in BVI and he played some stuff that night solo in front of maybe 15 people. While he's not Eric Clapton, he certainly can play decent guitar. I think he's more of an entertainer when he's onstage instead of a musician. I do think it's cheesy to use the guitar for a prop, but the guy can really play the guitar at a decent level. Just wanted to express a view based on up close observations.

It's just really shitty

Is it ok for artists to perform shows with a guitar and not play it? just stand on stage and sing with it?

So using the guitar as a prop?
Is that what you're saying?
Is that what you're saying?
