is it like this at every concert? im pretty sure i've seen him play before
couldn't it have just come unplugged and he didnt realize it/didnt want to make it obvious and just kept playing through it?

Very doubtful. If you are actually playing, you would hear a loud clunk when it came unplugged. They also don't tend to fall out. The jacks are pretty well-fit on a decent guitar. I doubt he is holding (not playing) an el cheapo.

It was pretty damned original when Buffett started doing it 40 years ago...
He has definitely fallen into the "make money while I can" rut, but he had some good tunes. I'm guessing your experience with JB is centered around Songs You Know By Heart. I still love "The Night I Painted the Sky." It's a good tune.

Yes.
I've seen Kenny play acoustic live. He's not incredible but he can play guitar.

Zac Brown definitely plays more than rhythm
But Im just saying this picture isnt fair without a video...what if his stagehand walked it out to him without it plugged in and he didnt realize it right away...so he just had to play along with it for one song
I just dont think KC routinely holds an unplugged guitar just to "look cool" on stage or anything, it was probably a mistake

There's a lot of reasons for the suck, and though that picture brings me f#%king deep sadness, while emblematic, it's not the cause.
Plenty of artists of all genres have hid behind the stunt guitar. I've seen Kenny play some passable live rhythm, but doubt anyone in his band has much of his guit in their ears even when he does get accidentally plugged in.
