I know. I'm old and just want people to get off my lawn. I would like to see AC/DC though.

Saw the Ballbreaker tour. Still say it was probably the loudest concert I have ever been to. Lost hearing for a couple days after that show.

GnR is possibly the most overrated band in the history of rock and roll. They have 2 good songs.

God damn bullshite.

GNR really was big in their prime. But my moods and tastes in music have changed so much that I only get in the mood once a year or so to hear them.

For me, Metallica by a wide margin. Got to see both.
Guns was the worst band i've ever seen live. sloppy, out of tune, axl was stoned/drunk and off key the entire show.
Appetite is a very good record.
But it's still not as good as metallica's first three offerings.
the times i saw metallica, they were outstanding live.

I too have seen both. Metallica with The Cult opening. Awesome show. G'NR with Soundgarden opening. Soundgarden was great, then we had to wait literally two hours after Soundgarden finished for G'NR to come on. frick Axl.

GNR show would be more likely to end in a riot, which might be fun. Metallica was at their peak in 1991 and GNR was at the beginning of their end so I'd probably go with Metallica.

jim breuer does a bit where he talks about how that tour killed GNR. pretty good explanation, which just about sums up what you are saying exactly.

I wouldn't say that tour killed them, Axl and his attitude did. They had several riots, near riots, and other incidents at live shows before then. I think a lot of people went to see them just for that element of danger.

Metallica for sure.

I have seen Metallica twice, in '89 and '09.
Saw GNR back in '87.

GNR was actually damn good at that show in Mobile. They opened for Motley Crue and blew them off the stage. This was before they got famous though. There set was very minimal. They played the whole Appetite for Destruction album, Knockin' on Heaven's Door and Mama Kin.

But nothing could top Metallica in Nashville in '09 when Lemmy showed up and played with them. Glad I was there to witness that.
