No one has ever heard of them, but always likes them

I'm listening to The Chameleons right now.
Even a number of my more knowledgable music fan friends had never heard of them before I played them some tunes, and I think every one of them came away fans.
I don't listen to many bands this is true of. Most people have at least heard a name or recognize a song or two. So what bands have you played for people that they'd never heard of but always seem to love?

Record Company
It never ceases to amaze me that people my age don't know all of the great music from the 80s.
And I know record company many isn't 80s, just an example of a current band

In the late 90s/early 2000s it was always You Am I

I have the worst taste in music on this board, so my answer is critically important here:
Evans Blue with their first singer. Typical post-grunge Helmet rip-off band, but with a really interesting vocalist. Listen to “Stop and Say You Love Me” as an example of how strange, but catchy it is. Then, go listen to their cover of the little know Tori Amos song “Caught a Lite Sneeze.”
The few music snob friends I’ve introduced to Evans Blue became quasi-fans. Not bad for a band who hasn’t done anything in nearly a decade.

Chameleons are underrated . Live versions of Second Skin and Up the Down Escalator are awesome.
